"I Bring What I Love" is next, on May 9

EUGENE, OR - The "Festival of Films From Around the Islamic World" continues this week with a showing of "Le Grand Voyage" on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in Building 17, Room 307, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene. The films are free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

Written and directed by Moroccan-born filmmaker Ismaël Ferroukhi, "Le Grande Voyage" portrays the changing relationship between a father and son as they embark on a religious pilgrimage from France to Mecca by car. Sharing many misadventures along the way, the two gradually become closer as they attempt to understand each other’s worlds. Released in 2004, "Le Grande Voyage" was the first fictional film to be permitted to get footage of the Hajj in Mecca.
