Pin change for myLane

On Monday, April 23rd all MyLane and ExpressLane pins have been expired. When you try to access MyLane or ExpressLane you will be required to change your pin to a 12-16 character and number pass-phrase with no spaces. You must use at least 1 character and at least 1 number. For example, “2beornottobe”,”noschool2day”, “60daystofinals”, “Iate6pizzastoday”.

Once you change your pin, it will take up to an hour for the new pass-phrase to propagate to our other systems such as Moodle, and the login in labs/classrooms. If you are a student or faculty member, we recommend you wait until the end of your last class of the day to make this change. Please make the change sometime within the next 2 weeks. If you wait until staged registration, which begins on May 7th, you may experience additional delays.

If you don’t already have two security questions, you will also be prompted to enter your pin and to choose two security questions and provide answers.

Why LCC is making this change?

Our pin conversion project has three objectives:
1) Convert to pass-phrases to vastly decrease the likelihood of a password being cracked
2) Allow students, staff and faculty to reset their own pass-phrases
3) To accommodate the requirements of various software packages used at Lane.
