PROJECT 451 UTILITY SUBMETERING
EMK has been working aggressively on installing gas and water meters on campus. Most of the irrigation meters and some meters in the tunnel have been installed. PROJECT 452 ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
Replacement of old and obsolete electrical panels by LCC deferred maintenance electricians is on hold while more time critical projects such as classroom upgrades are being completed. It is anticipated the panel replacements will resume during the shutdown August 22-23 and then again after the beginning of classes in September. An electrical transformer serving building 1 has been found to contain high levels of gases due to an internal arcing condition. It is of concern to campus Facilities personnel and every effort is being made to replace this transformer with a new unit during the August shutdown. The transformer does not present an electrical shock hazard to building occupants. Contact Dave Smith, 463-3433.
